Meet Dr. John Oubre, D.D.S.
Dr. John Oubre has been practicing orthodontics for 42 years and throughout his career he has maintained the highest possible standard of excellence, compassion and clinical proficiency in an effort to provide the best possible treatment to his patients. With a commitment to staying on the forefront of the profession and upholding these standards, Dr. Oubre strives to never stop learning and implementing new technologies that will help deliver the best possible treatment.
Dr. Oubre grew up in Norco, Louisiana outside of New Orleans and was first introduced to Lafayette when he attended and graduated from USL. He later returned to New Orleans and earned his dental degree from the Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 1980, where he then went on to complete his specialty training in orthodontics as well, graduating in 1982. After graduation, he moved back to Lafayette and Oubre Orthodontics was born. He later went on to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a status he still maintains to this day. He was also a long time participant of the Roth-Williams International Society.
Dr. Oubre is married to his wife, Jeannie Wedemeyer, who also has a dental degree. Together, they have five children: Michael, Matthew, Thomas, Olivia, and James. He is also the grandfather to four wonderful grandchildren. When he’s away from the office, Dr. Oubre enjoys playing golf and participating in his children and grandchildren’s many activities.
